have 1.8 combat mechanics on SMP2?

It is very much possible, quite easy in fact. But I do believe 1.9+ Combat should be present on a 1.9+ Server, so we will not be bringing back 1.8 Combat to SMP 2.not possible without removing the 1.12.2 features, which are pretty much needed for an smp to make it less boring

how are you gonna add the 1.12.2 features to 1.8? or how are you gonna remove the hit delay?wait, wut, but how??

You can check/set cooldown with a field on EntityPlayer iirc, I've definitely seen it before (ViaVersion for example, cancels cooldowns on 1.8 servers where you're on a 1.9+ client, try it on the hub).wait, wut, but how??

We like having the ability to customize things, and if an external plugin has a bug, we can't fix it, that's a wontfix upstream bug. We don't like that, we're even removing essentials from all servers soon, and hopefully someday ALL our plugins are custom.ik im just saying there's an easier way than to make ur own plugin

The only key features that essentials has are kits, homes, warps, and vault integration for economy. We can easily replicate these with our databasewait

but then again people still pvp in smp servers
Also I feel the point is to survive, not to PvP, and any 1.8.9 server seems to be PvP based.

Tbh 1.9 PvP is wahey easier because 1.8 PvP you have to know how to rod combo, egg/snowball combo, you can't hide behind a shield, etcimo i like new pvp better its not just spam clicking and aim requires more skill and practicing and is more fun also what cheeta said
