It is still on 1.12.2 and I don’t think they are planning on updating anytime soon

no it is not, the server is via version allowing you to join on any version, while playing 1.12.2. as far as we all know the server will not update. it is 1.12.2 because that is the most compatible version for all the plugins, and for servers to run on (other than 1.8.9 but who wants an smp thats 1.8.9) so no it has not updated, you are just able to join on any version above 1.12.2
